It is characterized by normal early growth and development followed by a slowing of development, loss of purposeful use of the hands, distinctive hand movements, slowed brain growth, problems with walking, seizures, and intellectual disability.
Rip it for Rett
Year 1- 6
Jennifer's Sister. She likes to golf but she has her priorities straight if you can't find her selling raffle tickets, she's probably behind the bar sneaking Jenny a beer. Don't tell our Mom ;)
Jennifer's Brother. He can't hit the broad side of a barn with a golf ball but he has a uncanny ability to find the beer cart at all the right times.
Jennifer's Brother in Law. Quin and his team are happy to win longest drive with hockey gloves and most spirited. Considering his team comes from Oh Canada, don't they already win longest drive?
We were inspired by our older sister Jennifer who is 42 years old and has Rett Syndrome. She is the best sister any of us could ask for, Rett Syndome took away her ability to talk, walk independently, use her hands effectively and causes her a lot of discomfort and pain. We would all like to find a cure to make sure other little girls don't have to live this difficult life.
Jennifer's Sister in Law. What she lacks in her golf game she makes up for in her ability to diagnose tendinitis or alcohol poisoning.
